Hi, I’m Matty a maker, tinkerer, and all-round curious mind.

This blog is where I share the things I build, fix, and experiment with. I’ve always loved learning how things work and figuring out how to make them better. Here you’ll find all kinds of projects and ideas:

BBC Model B – Installing Turbo MMFS One of the easiest and most useful upgrades you can make to your BBC Model B is installing Turbo MMFS . It replaces old tape or floppy drives with fast, modern SD card storage making loading software instant and much easier. You can also add more software by updating what is stored on the SD Card. I bought a pre-burnt Turbo MMFS ROM and ready-made SD card interface , so installation was plug-and-play, this was also cheaper and less time consuming as you will see.   The Differential Amplifier A differential amplifier is an operational amplifier circuit that amplifies the difference between two input voltages . Instead of measuring a signal relative to ground, it measures how much one signal differs from another . This makes differential amplifiers incredibly useful for: Rejecting noise Comparing signals Sensor interfaces Audio and measurement circuits In simple mathematical terms: Output = (Input 1 – Input 2) × Gain In the real world, signals are often noisy.
